Better Results with Digital Dentistry

At Fuller Dental, we are always looking for ways to improve the quality of our dental care. In recent years digital imaging has come to the fore of dental technology available. Digital diagnostics tend to be, in general, more convenient and comfortable for dentists and patients alike.

Digital X-Rays

X-rays, whether digital or traditional, operate in the same basic way: x-ray particles pass through the bone to create an image of the teeth and jaw. With digital x-rays we can use up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays. We can also magnify the image to see the details of your mouth with fewer images, exposing you to less radiation. The digital format also means that we can easily store your files and send them to specialists or your new dentist if needed.

CBCT Planmeca Imaging

Cone Beam CT imaging, or CBCT, is a specialized type of dental imaging that provides more detail than an x-ray. The CBCT scan offers a 360 degree look at the teeth and bones and produces a 3-D model of your mouth. 3-D imaging is one of the newest and most useful technologies in dentistry. This 3-D model can even replace traditional dental impressions. For many people impressions are one of their least favorite dental procedures. Digital imaging avoids the messy impression material and uncomfortable trays that many patients dread.

Digital Imaging Software

One of the many benefits of digital imaging is that the images can be manipulated using dental CAD/CAM software. Using your digital x-rays of CBCT scans, we can plan your treatment digitally and predict the results of treatments such as dental implants. Digital planning means that we can offer more precise results.
